Embarking upon 21st Century and Progressive implementation of Globalization and Liberalization. India has to match the upgradation wave, particularly in Technical education. There are over 1500 engineering colleges releasing over 5 lakh engineering graduates, in India. To make the product of this college employable we are geared up to upgrade our approach, both in terms of content of course and Quality. We are also aware of the universal mantra: Survival of the fittest, so our endeavor has been to transform the disadvantages, peculiar to peripheral and rural Engineering colleges like S.E.C., to advantages. We are happy that our struggle is paying; Indication is our high growth rate in campus recruitment front : 97% for 2008 pass out batch and around 45% so, far, for 2009 batch. SEC can boast of Quality infrastructure, dedicated faculty and congenial environment. We have received ISO certification. Recently SEC has signed MOU with Infosys for campus connect programme to train both faculty and students to meet ever developing and need of industry requirements. The college has introduced  "Oracle Development work-force Programme" by oracle corporation of India and "Sun Academic Initiative Programme" by sun Microsystem with dedicated hi-end Laboratories. Through continuing education programme, we are offering advanced level training programmes, right from 1st semester, some of which have been embedded in the Time Table. SEC is the center of Technical Excellence and is analogous to a technical beacon in North Orissa. Contiguous to states of Bihar, West Bengal and lharkhand.
