Alumni Association

The College has an Alumni Association, which has been initiated from the year 2006. Its objective is to have regular contact with the Pass out students in order to create interaction for betterment of the institute, asking for donations and assistance for job prospects of students. The Association arranges "OLD BOYS MEET" once a year at different places of the country where most of them can attend. It also has an agenda of honoring outstanding and eminent personalities who have contributed for social upliftment. During 2007 Annual Alumni meeting nine eminent citizens of Baripada were Honored.

Athletic Association

The Institute boasts of well developed large playgrounds and advanced version of games and sports equip-ments. The Institute has facilities for games such as: Basketball, Cricket, Football, Volley Ball, Badminton, Carom, Table Tennis & Chess, and good provision for sports. The students of S.E.C. are participating in different Inter College / Inter University Sports Meet & Tournaments conducted by BPUT & I.U. (All India). The Hostels also have their own Outdoor & Indoor Games. Talented players are identified and encouraged to attend different Tournaments held within and outside the state. We have been the proud choice to conduct Inter University games in Football and Cricket every year.
During 2006-2007 SEC has recorded outstanding performance in all events of Games & Sports. The Institute has won Championship in inter college Volleyball Tournament, Runners up in foot ball, and Two gold, Two silver and One bronze medals in Athletics conducted by BPUT.
SEC has conducted successfully inter college football tournaments of BPUT 2006-2007 and were entrusted for the same for previous two years.

Gymnasium

There is a well equipped Gymnasium inside the college campus. The Gymnasium remains open up to evening 6 PM. Training is conducted under the super vision of trainers and college PET

Cultural Association

Special focus is given for all round growth of students by encouraging them to participate in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Every year the institute conducts co-curricular activities like Essay, Debate, Quiz, Song, Music Competitions and the winners are awarded during the Annual Day. Our students have brought glory to our college by retaining overall champi-onship trophy in all district level cultural programmes. The college releases Institute Magazine, Tech Beacon, and Quarterly bulletin Techno - SEC. All college function is conducted by the Association. MayurFest is the annual College Festival.

Music Club

The Club is provided with all Musical instruments for the use of students. Faculty members interested in Music and outside experts identify the talents and provide training. Regular practice sessions are held. Entertainment programmes in all college functions are exclusively conducted by the club. The College Orchestra is Quite popular in this region.

Yoga Center

There is a separate Yoga center inside the college campus. Yoga is taught by expert teachers from the college and from out side.

NSS Cell

Feeling the necessity of personality development of the students through community services and environmental protection, an organized platform like Notional Service Scheme (NSS) has been introduced in our college. Both Male and Female Students can be volunteers of N.S.S. which carries special weightage during their career. NSS takes up tree plantation, site cleaning, disaster management in the college and nearby villages, and Blood donation. The cell arranges Blood Donation, Health care and Rural information assistance camps in nearby villages. One of the remarkable achievements of N.S.S. is collection of 403 units of blood in a single day, a state level record among the academic institutes.

Social Service Guild

The SSG has been established with a vision for rendering help during Calamities, financing the poor and meritorious students across the District and carryout other social works. It organizes various fund raising events during SSG Day. SSG also runs a Co-operative store within the College premises for selling stationeries and consumables to students at reasonable rate.





    Internet Facility

Now College has its own intranet facilities, which connects different LANs of all departments, Training & Placement Cell, Academic Cell, Examination Cell, Admission Cell, Administrative, Accounts office and Central library by Fiber Optics Cable using managed switches. This facilitates Web Based E-mail services, On-line teaching materials, Sharing of Information, resources and valuable data among students, faculties and offices.

     Computer Science Department has separate Internet lab which provides Internet service through V -SAT (5.12 Kbps) and BSNL 8 Mbps Broadband connection. Lab uses Network Security UTM Firewall to provide safe and secured Internet service to all end users. This facility accounts to all students on the High-End Systems, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The facility has been extended to various departments, Library and different offices. Extension to Hostels through wireless LAN is under process.


Transport Facility

At present the college provides three buses to handle students for up and down journey from Jharpokharia to college campus at regular intervals. Also the college is in a process of procuring two more buses for better transportation.

College Canteen

The college has a spacious canteen and a soft-drink parlour within the campus. The canteen provides good quality nutritious food and snacks through out the year.
