The Dept of Computer Science & Engineering and IT was instituted in the year 1997 and has developed itself into one of the best departments in terms of infrastructure, faculty Quality and students performance. The labs are equipped with high speed Computer, mostly IBM and HCL make, and advanced servers like IBM, HCL and PCS, to offer I : I Computing facility to students: Internet Lab, Computer Organisation Lab., Computer Graphics Lab., Operating Systems Lab., Networking Lab., System Software lab., and Advance C and OOPS lab. Besides, there are two high end labs. SUN JAVA Lab. (by SUN Microsystems) and ORACLE lab. (by ORACLE Corporation) dedicatedly used for Projects and Trainings. Students are exposed to platforms such as SCO UNIX, WIN 9X, WIN NT, WIN 2K, WIN XP, LINUX, SUN SOLARIS and NOVELL in a Centrally managed Switching network. Central Computing facility, Campus-wide Networking and College Intranet, and Internet facility are managed by the Department. Total number of Computers exceed 200. Through the Continuing Education Cell, the Dept. offers Vocational and high end training programmes, during working days and during holidays and vacations: Advance C and C++, VC++, ORACLE 9i, JAVA and 12EE, LINUX (RedHat), Regular students Seminars and Projects works are routinely Conducted. The Department encourages R & D activities and faculty Development Programme for the teachers.

Today, world has made Its base in Electronics, camouflaged and used In different sectors, under different specifications. Keeping this in view, SEC instituted this Dept in 1997. Since then we have engulfed meticulously all modern, advanced and sophisticated technological developments, in our institution. The department comprises of Electronics circuit lab, Digital Circuit lab.. Microprocessor / Advance Microprocessor Lab, Analog/Digital Communication Lab, Microwave Lab, Optical Fiber Lab. Besides these above mentioned lab the department has a sophisticated VLSI lab., Comprising VLSI software and Spatran / Virtex VLSI trainer kits. Also the department has developed a very good Digital Signal Processing (DSP) lab with DSP trainer kits and MATLAB platform. This department has Its own Computer Lab. having 30 nos. of HCL computers. The Faculty members are adequately Qualified and experienced to handle the modern and hitech subjects. Through its competent technical supporting staff the labs are well maintained and high standard experiments and project works are offered. The Department routinely arranges Seminars and Gust lectures in modern topics. Through the Continuing Education Cell, the Dept. arranges training programmes to students in contemporary technology. Dept encourages faculty for R & D works and academic upgradation.

The Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering was instituted in theyear 1999. It comprises Electronics circuit Lab, Digital Logic Lab, Microprocessor Lab, Transducer Technology Lab, DSP lab, Computerized process control lab, Instrumentation System Design Lab, Electronics System lab, E.M. lab and VLSI Lab. All these Labs are eQuipped with sophisticated instruments and trainer kits, most of which are custom-designed to facilitate better demonstration and easier understanding of the students. Process control & Instrumentation Laboratory caters to the needs of students of other departments such as Electrical Engg. It is equipped with various measuring, recording Instruments such as Thermocouples, RTD, Thermostat, Strain gauge, Inductive pickup, LVDT, capacitive pick up, pressure gauges. Process control lab is eQuipped with Flow process and Level process control station by PID through computer Interface & programmable logic controls. The DSP Lab is equipped with DSP trainer kits for speech pro-cessing, and MATLAB platform. Micro processor lab is the most sophisticated lab in SEC, gives students a better exposure to the 8 bit, 16 bit and 32 bit Microprocessors along with interfacing facilities with stepper motor, DC motor, Analogue to digital Converter, Digital to analogue converter, Temperature controller, Traffic light controller etc. The Department has competent and experienced faculty and supporting staff for effective teaching and laboratory works. Appropriate advanced level experiments and project works are offered to students. Seminars and guest lectures are routinely conducted. The Dept. conducts advanced level training programmes through the continuing education cell. R & D activities and faculty upgradation are encouraged.

The Mechanical Engineering Department of Seemanta Engineering College was established in the year 1997. It has talented, dedicated, skilled and experienced Faculty from various backgrounds like from Industry R&D, and Teaching. The Laboratories of the Department are well equipped and technical supporting staffs are competent and adequate in number.

 The laboratories are :-

Applied Mechanics Lab., Material Testing Lab., Metrology Lab., Hydraulics Machines Lab., Thermal Engg. Lab., Heat Engine lab., CAD/CAM Lab„ Automobile Lab., Dynamics and Vibration Lab., Heat Transfer Lab., Refrigeration and Air Conditioning lab. and Production lab. 

In addition to above the department has Three Drawing Halls, Seminar Hall and own class rooms. Special emphasis is given for Seminars and Project work. The Dept. arranges for high end trainings such as AUTO CAD, Pro-E and CATIA through the Continuing Education Programme.

This department started functioning from the academic year 1999-2000. It has well equipped labs comprising modern and sophisticated machines and equipment : 

Basic Electrical Lab, Electrical Machine Lab, Network. and Devices lab., Power Systems Lab, Modeling & Simulation lab., Measurement Lab., High Voltage lab., Power Electronics Lab., Control System and Instrumentation lab., MATLAB lab.

 Faculties are competent and have special expertise in areas of Power System, Power Electronics, High Voltage. Communication, Signal Processing and Control Systems. The technical supporting staffs are well versed in all experiments. Regular student's seminars and project works are conducted through out they-ear. The Dept. encourages R&D activities, and being the parent discipline of all Electrical Sciences, has to keep abreast of such activities. Regular technical talks by eminent Professors from IlTs and NITS are arranged. It offers Vocational trainings to students, such as on PLC / SCADA, CAD Design, Modern Simulation techniques etc. through the Continuing Education Cell of the College.

Thisdepartment started functioning from the academic year 2007-2008. It has so far developed following labs with very modern equipment and instruments : Civil Engg Lab., Concrete Lab., Survey lab. and Material Testing lab., New labs are coming up for higher Semesters.

The department has a fully developed Laboratory, which is well equipped with multiple numbers of equipments and apparatus to fulfill all the requirements of the BPUT syllabus. The physics Lab also provides scope for research works. The Department has experienced faculty members and Laboratory Assistants to guide the students. Department encourages R & D works and Faculty Development Programmes.

The department has a fully developed Laboratory, which is well equipped with multiple numbers of equipments and apparatus to fulfill all the requirements of the BPUT syllabus. The Lab is well equipped with all advanced instruments for experiment and research purposes. The Department has experienced faculty members and Laboratory Assistants to guide the students. Department encourages R & D works and Faculty Development Programmes.

The Dept. was instituted in the year 1999. The strength of the Department is its very talented, dedicated, committed, skilled and experienced faculty drawn from various backgrounds such as Teaching and Industries, and Laboratories. 

The Laboratories, with 65 Systems, are supported by advanced servers like IBM Infinity, HP E200, Compaq etc using the plat-forms like SCO UNIX, WIN 9x, WIN NT, WIN 2K, WIN XP LINUX, NOVEL in a centrally managed switching network. The Department sets the platform where creativity germinates. In addition, the Microprocessor Lab, Operating System Lab, Net-working Lob, Computer Graphics Lab, Computer Organization Lab, Multimedia Lab, Internet Lab. Of sister departments are utilized.

 With a view to providing the students a better exposure, the department provides extra computer hours for students. In order to keep the students acquainted with the fast changing developments in the computer world, it keeps on adding new software & features to its existing labs. Besides, the department conducts regular seminars to enlighten the students on the latest developments. Apart from this the department arranges 6th months Project training in various Software Industries in India and abroad. Through continuing Education Cell, the Department provides additional trainings to students on JAVA, C#,. NET, C, C++, VC-f+ ,V/++ ,ORACLE-9i, PROLOG, Visual Basic, COBOL, DB2, LISP, FORTRAN, PASCAL, 2 D-3 D-ANIMATION, FLASH, PRO-C.
